Vicks Touch of Care: The Ad That Reminds Me of Home - SHAI HABON

Vicks Touch of Care: The Ad That Reminds Me of Home

Family has always been a priority for me. Growing up, I became very close to my parents and just like most children, my goal is to give them the comfortable life they deserve. This is the reason why I always aim to strive hard and work persistently for everyone to have a good life.

Recently, I decided to move out of the house and while it’s the ultimate adulting stir, it also meant living a life away from home. Yes, it is exciting and liberating. The solitude of actually being on my own and the pride of being able to provide for myself is just an honor badge on my cap. It’s all beaming and happy but there are days where I just miss everyone back home and there are times where I feel sad that I am not able to take care of ma and pa especially when they’re sick.

But hey, reality is I really have to be on my own.

A few days ago, I got the chance to see the story of Agnes in the latest Vicks’ commercial. It’s a story of an unparalleled love of a woman who has took care of a child with HIV. It talks about the hardships and challenges of living in a society of prejudices and misconceptions.

It is very timely for this month is Women’s Month. This clip shows us a narrative of a mother who, despite the challenges posted by the society, decided not to give up. At the same time, the story sheds light on the HIV stigma. But more than anything else, this ad reminded me of family. This short clip speaks to me in so many ways. It made me realize the importance of the “touch of care” — the kind of touch that no one can actually give you except for people who really love you from the very beginning.

I’m writing this not to just merely promote the brand. I am writing this to invite you to watch the video for you appreciate and feel it yourself.

This video also reminds us to appreciate our moms more because at the end of the day, sya lang din talaga yung nandyan para sa atin, kahit talikuran pa tayo ng buong mundo, sya yung nananatili at lalaban para sa atin. Thank you for sharing this video.
