10 Things Only #Girlbosses Do

10 Things Only #Girlbosses Do

Girlboss (urban dictionary) – a girl that doesn’t take shit from anyone. Girlbosses do who ever they want and get whatever they want because they run (and rule) the world. Period.

So when the #Girlboss became a trending lingo, all of us just want to hop in. Like a lot of millennials want to nab the label just because their alpha ego tells them that their ability to multitask gives them the power to be the “boss” of their own world.

Well, maybe yes, but not quite.

As what Sophia Amoruso, author of the bestselling book #Girlboss, would say — “Being a Girlboss is not easy. It takes a lot of hard work to get there, and then once you arrive, it takes even more hard work to stay there”

So what distinguishes a Girlboss from the rest? Let us count the ways.

1. A girlboss has her game plans set.

She sets her morning alarm early and doesn’t have to press snooze 20 times. She wakes up on time, eat a full breakfast meal (no, breakfast isn’t part of her diet program because she needs a heavy morning meal) and she has her plans set for the day.

She basically has three plans in store just in case plans A and B don’t work and yes, a backup contingency thing —if worse comes to worst.

2. A girlboss knows exactly what she wants to be and what she wants to have.

She sets her goals and no b*tch can mess with that, period. She has a list of what she loves doing, what she wants to do, what she wants to try, what she wants to have and she sets her deadlines very clear. Whether it’s an urgent stint, a 5-year plan or a lifetime achievement kind of thing, it doesn’t matter. She has planned it all out and every single day, she works on a phase that’s best for her and as expected, she gets the TASKS DONE.

3. A girlboss doesn’t let failures bring her down.

She’s flawed and she appreciates it. Mistakes and failures only make her strong and she’s always ready to bounce back, whatever the circumstances are. No doubt, she’s groomed for success.

4. A girlboss surrounds herself with strong women (and they are all girlbosses too).

They’re the dream squad and while each girl on the team thinks she’s Beyonce, they know they’ve always got each others back. They support each other and compete with each other from time to time. Still, all girl bosses are champions on their own and gold medals aren’t just for men, right?

5. A girlboss speaks her mind, almost all the time.

She got an opinion? She’ll say it. She’s not afraid of criticisms because she knows exactly what she’s doing. She let’s everyone know what is in her head because she believes her insights are valuable.

6. And yes, a girlboss also knows how to listen.

She respects the time and opinion of others. She believes in the importance of listening well and her interests include learning from other people.

7.   A girlboss celebrates her body.

She knows how to flaunt her assets and she works on her flaws. She eats good food and spends an ample amount of time for exercise. Well, she got to be healthy because she needs more time to celebrate her successes.

8. A girlboss tries new things outside her comfort zone.

She experiments on things. She likes going out of her napping box and is always excited to try things, sometimes multiple things.

9. A girlboss knows how to connect with people.

Her priorities are her relationships with people. She’s a daughter, a sister, a wife, a girlfriend, a colleague and she invests time, emotions and love in all her connections. She values face to face comm more than texts and chats and she’s always ready to grab a drink or a cup of tea with anyone.

10. Lastly, a girlboss influences others to always do and be their best.

She got her inspirations on the set but she also inspires other girls to be their best version of themselves. She doesn’t have to exert too much effort in doing such, she just stays real and she lets her victories, big or small, do the talk.

So girlboss aspirants, are you ready to take the challenge?
